By Wang Pengyu and Liang Cheng NANNING, Nov. 23 -- Border authorities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have tightened border control recently and the border police have thus cracked eight cases of destroying border military facilities within a week, arresting 15 foreign suspects. In Baise City bordering Vietnam on the south, the border management detachment under the Guangxi General Station of Immigration Inspection has cracked hard down upon the crimes of destroying border control facilities, as well as illegal entry and exit across land borders. From November 11 to 17, the border police stationed in townships including Longbang, Renzhuang, Anning, Xinxing, Tunpan and Yuewei in Baise City successively captured 15 foreigners suspected of destroying border control facilities. The 15 suspects have been quarantined collectively according to rules regarding the handling of cases during the COVID-19 pandemic, waiting for further investigation. China has reinforced its border management and control to strictly prevent the importation of COVID-19 infections given the serious pandemic situation overseas.
